On Kickstarter, not all dreams come true. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. On the surface, it sounds like a pretty good idea. The Carbon… is a watch made by a company called Energy Bionics….headed by Sean Ebersold…
“You just wear Carbon throughout your day. When you wear it, it harvests sunlight, solar energy, and you use this energy to power mobile devices really when you need it the most. So in addition to harvesting solar energy it also includes and analog watch. ”
The small wrist worn battery isn’t big enough to recharge a smartphone completely….but can provide an extra three hours or so of talk time or Internet use. But the Carbon fell short of its Kickstarter fund raising goal. Maybe it’s just that between smart watches, fitness and health monitoring devices….there too much competition for space on our wrists. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
