The new world of automatic content recognition

The new world of automatic content recognition.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.  It’s technology that some may find a little bit scary, but it is here.    A company called Enswers is one of the leaders in automatic content recognition…the technology that lets devices like smartphones, tablets and Samsung’s Smart TVs deliver interactivity by knowing what you are watching or listening too.   So, for instance, interactive advertising can be delivered to screens based on what you’re watching.   But CEO JP Lee adds…

“Just to make it clear, of course, Samsung requires users’ consent to make sure that they are fully aware of what Samsung is collecting.”

The TV can know if you are playing video games, watching movies from a streaming service and more.  For consumers, Lee says, it can mean more interactivity and ad content that they would be interested in.  It will also allow phones and tablets to be used as part of the TV watching experience.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
