A new edition of the latest flagship phone from HTC comes to Sprint.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The Harman Kardon Edition of the HTC One M8 has arrived exclusively on Sprint…bringing upgraded sound and a black, still all metal, finish.   The package also includes a free six month subscription to Spotify Premium and a Harman Kardon headset.  The new software is called Clari-fi and Harman CEO Dinesh Paliwal says…

“So what it is doing, it’s a software algorithm.  It analyzes in real time the quality of the music.  If the music is really bad, which is radio streaming music, it will correct a lot more.  If the music is high quality, it will leave it alone.  It’s a smart algorithm.”

There is a significant difference in sound quality.   Paliwal is hoping it will be adopted on more phones going forward…

“I expect it to proliferate pretty fast.”
