Acer’s new Switch 10 arrives this month. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The Switch 10 is a new hybrid computer…that functions as a Windows 8 notebook or 10 inch screen tablet…and with a price starting at under 400 dollars…it’s designed to be affordable for families and students. Senior Product Marketing Manager David Huang…
“This also has something that’s pretty interesting. It’s called zero air gap technology. Traditionally, a lot of touch screens have an air gap between the touch module and that of the display. Myself, I wear glasses, and imagine say I’m looking into a fish tank. If you look straight on to a fish tank, it’s clear. But if you’re on the side, you may see some distortion, some contrast lost. We want to make sure the visual user experience is perfect.”
The design is similar to Lenovo’s popular Yoga notebooks…but the screen on the Switch 10 is removable from the keyboard base…which can be purchased with an added built in hard drive for extra storage. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
