Can a karaoke machine make you sound like a singer?

Can a karaoke machine make you sound like a singer?    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It’s called the Singtrix Party Bundle created by the folks behind Guitar Hero.  The kit includes everything from two microphones, a mic stand and a stereo amplifier…to the real magic ingredient….the Singtrix Studio Effect Console.   It can keep you on key, add harmony or completely change your voice.   There are something like 350 effects in all.  Co-founder Eric Berkowitz…

“It’s music agnostic.  It’ll work with any music source that you have.  So if you log onto YouTube and you type karaoke Elvis Presley, all the karaoke Elvis Presley songs will come up.  You can also use your iTunes library and you press a little button on Singtrix and it will pull the lead vocal out.”

At 300 dollars…the technology doesn’t come cheap.  But if you love singing and want to sound like a singer…or at least more like a singer, the investment may be worthwhile.   You can find us at  I’m Fred Fishkin.
