Keeping an extra eye on the road.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     With built in GPS and a high definition camera….the new Dash Cam 20 from Garmin is designed to mount on your windshield and automatically record everything that happens in front of your car while you’re driving.   Even though it embeds GPS info…it can’t serve as a combo navigation device…but maybe that kind of thing is down the road.   But what it can do,  can be important.   Garmin’s Johan-Till Broer…

“It’s quite common in accidents for one party to blame the other.  Or there are other instances where such a camera can be helpful.  If you drive over a pot hole for example and you damage your car, that would be recorded as well.  So you can take that footage to an insurance company for example.  Or if you get into a hit and run accident, you can make sure that you get the license plate.”

Garmin’s Dash Cam 20 sells for about 250 dollars.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
