More gadgets for the connected home.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Companies that have been making the routers and such to connect our homes to the Internet…have been branching out.   D-Link is among those zeroing in on the connected home.  Director of Consumer Product Marketing Ken Loyd says among the latest products…

“So a WiFi enabled Smart Plug to turn on and off devices.   You can create schedules for those devices to come on and off at your convenience and a new WiFi Motion Sensor.   So as you come into a room you can automatically turn on and off your fan, your lights or other electronic appliances.  They’re all controlled via a mobile app, available both in iOS and Android versions.”

D-Link has used its experience in creating Internet Cameras to ensure installation is simple.   And the company says this is just the start  The WiFi Smart Plug sells for under 50 dollars with the Motion Sensor alone about ten dollars less.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
