The latest health and safety device from GreatCall goes waterproof. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. GreatCall has been in the business of designing mobile devices for seniors and care givers for years…including the Jitterbug phone. Now the company is out with the GreatCall Splash. VP for technology Dean Williams…
“So this is our mobile personal emergency response device. It’s very small, very lightweight. It has two way voice communication, has GPS so when you’re talking to us we get location updates so we know where you are in case you’re lost. As I mentioned earlier, the device now is waterproof. I think the main thing there is our customers want to be able to wear it in the shower because a lot of accidents occur in the bathroom.”
The GreatCall Splash sells for under fifty dollars and service plans start at about fifteen dollars a month. For about twenty dollars…the service includes anytime access to medical professionals. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
