LeapTV educational game system from Leap Frog on the way

An educational video game system for kids from Leap Frog.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Leap Frog has had a lot of success combining technology with fun and learning for kids.  It has had hand held and tablet devices on the market for years.  And now it will soon be shipping a video game system call LeapTV.   Why?   VP David Perkinson…

“Where we excel is where we see an opportunity to see a trend that’s successful in mainstream consumer electronics and then provide the kid safe educational alternative.  So certainly with the launch of PS4 and Xbox One, there’s been a lot of renewed interest in home console gaming, but there’s really nothing available for kids three to eight.  And we thought that there was a great opportunity to come in and make something really special and really unique.”

An early demo looked promising.  The controllers can be used with two hands or can be transformed into a wand shape for sports games and more.   LeapTV arrives this fall for about a hundred fifty dollars.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
