Epson's latest wearable tech: Moverio BT-200 glasses

Epson’s latest wearable tech.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Epson…a company probably best known for its printers…is out with the second generation of its Moverio Glasses.    Unlike Google Glasses, the Moverio BT-200 glasses have to worn tethered to an Android controller.   But they do have some advantages.   Associate product manager Mike Leyva…

“The Moverio occupies a very specific place in this continuum of products.  The difference with ours is it’s binocular.  So it has two micro projectors on each side.  And by being binocular and stereoscopic it enables 3D images to be projected out into the users field of view.  It actually puts the image directly in your field of view.  It’s transparent so a user can see through it if they need to but also overlay that information on the real world.”

They aren’t made to be worn all of the time…but rather for specific tasks, games or applications.  The price…about 700 dollars.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
