For Apple fans,  the new iPhones are just days away.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   With his first new product category since he took over as CEO….Tim Cook has announced the Apple Watch along with two new iPhones…including one with a bigger screen and a bigger price.      A new 128 gigabyte iPhone 6 plus with a 5 and a half inch screen will cost nearly 500 dollars with the typical two year contract.   And starting next month, users will be able to use the iPhone 6 devices to pay for everything from hamburgers in McDonalds to almond milk at Whole Foods with wireless near field technology called Apple Pay.   Cook predicts…

“Apple pay will forever change the way all of us buy things.”

Including online.   And the payment system is also being baked into the new Apple Watch…which will arrive early next year starting at 349 dollars…

“Of course Apple Watch works with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.  But we’ve also designed it so that it will work with iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S.  This means that over 200 million people already can use Apple Watch.”

Apple is far from the first to come out with a smart watch.  Samsung has had several generations on the market and has been joined by a growing list of other manufacturers.  Cook is hoping that Apple has found the winning formula.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m FF.
