Mattel grows techie toy line for holidays

Techstination feature for Friday, December 5, 2014

Hot Wheels take to the air.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Mattel has been expanding its line up of techie toys for this holiday season.   There’s a Barbie Fashion Design Maker that lets kids print wearable custom fashions and the Monster High Monster Maker goes a step beyond that.   Kids can use an iPad app to design a Monster doll and the toy printer…available only online…lets them create it.   And in the Hot Wheels line…Director of Corporate Communications Alex Clark says the Street Hawk is taking off…

“You know it’s no secret that kids love to play with remote control cars and they love to play with remote control airplanes.   This is the first product that really combines the two in a way that’s pretty cool.    The car is very fast and when you hit the accelerator, it takes off.  And it drives down the road like no car you’ve ever seen.  And as soon as it gets up to speed, it takes off and flies in the air.”

It is rugged and fun and sells for about 60 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
