"I'd say right now we have between 295 and 305. The last I counted, and I've added some since then, I think it was 290."
The veterans join in a chat room every evening. They've posted photographs and found long lost buddies. Mike Scherfen of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey found the Phu Lam Web site just a few weeks ago...
"A lot of memories started floating back about the site and how it was built and when it was built and the people that built it."
Phu Lam was the hub for nearly all of the military communications in South Vietnam. Connie Chronister smiles when she hears stories about buddies being reunited...
"They're one great bunch of guys. And I love them all."
And if someone were to ask you why you did this?
"Because I love the vets."
