Get cooking for the holidays with some high tech help. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. A couple of new products are on the shelves this holiday season designed to bring kitchen scales into the digital age. Drop connects to the latest iOS devices via Bluetooth…and links the small and well designed scale to your iPad…where the app full of recipes makes sure you get the measurements right. CEO Ben Harris says there are top notch partners contributing those recipes…
“And we’re continuing to grow that recipe content both from ourselves and our content partners.”
The price…99 dollars. Its competition comes from a connected scale called Perfect Bake…sold in Brookstone stores…that includes a scale that plugs into iOS or Android devices…color coded mixing bowls and an oven thermometer. It comes from Pure Imagination where partner Darin Barri says the goal is simple…
“It eliminates all of those inconsistencies. When you’re finished baking, it always comes out consistent and perfect.”
Perfect Bake lets you add your own recipes too. It sells for about 80 dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
