Techstination feature for Monday, December 29, 2014

New high tech ways to track children and even pets. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.  Verizon Wireless is now selling a gadget called Gizmopal from LG Electronics.   It comes in either blue or pink…is worn by kids on the wrist…and lets parents know where their children are using apps for Android or Apple smartphones or tablets and allows two way communication too.     Using tech for tracking isn’t limited to children.   Also new is a gadget called Gibi…that uses GPS and mobile tech to let you keep track of pets.  Founder and CEO Synette Tom…

“We’ve designed it to make it attach securely to any third party collar.  So you can use your existing collar.  The device is very sleek, it’s stylish, it’s tough, it’s waterproof, it’s lightweight.”

Gibi can alert you when a pet leaves a designated area and a charge typically lasts four or five days..   It sells for about 130 dollars at Walmart and Amazon.com.   You can locate us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
