Some new tech for making music. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Singular Sound is the name of the start up behind a new gadget called BeatBuddy. The idea, says CEO David Packouz….is to have a drum machine that doesn’t require programming and can be used while you’re playing the guitar…
“The BeatBuddy is a drum machine in a guitar pedal format. So it goes on the floor, it’s made out of metal, very strong, designed for a live performance environment. Because it’s a pedal, depending on how you press the pedal, will control what the beat does.”
It is easy and fun to use. And the story behind it…
“Well I’m a guitarist, I’m a singer, song writer and I needed a beat to play with. And it’s very difficult to find drummers.”
Not to mention how cumbersome a full drum set can be. The price? About 350 dollars. There’s more info at MyBeatBuddy.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
