More choices in cameras to monitor your home.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     When it comes to cameras that let you check on your home from smartphones from anywhere…consumers have lots of choices.    One of the newest is called SpotCam…and what sets it apart is the free storage of 24 hours of video in the cloud.    It has a built in microphone and speaker…which is becoming fairly common, but CEO Jacky Lin says another key difference is the video quality…

“We have done a lot of testing.   We put our camera together with other home cameras in the market side by side.   And we’ve seen the video, you can see a very clear difference in terms of the image quality.  SpotCam’s much better.  Especially in night view. ”

SpotCam sells for about a hundred fifty dollars and there are subscriptions available if you need to store more than 24 hours worth of video in the cloud.   A 7 day storage plan is priced at a reasonable 59 dollars a year.   The video is encrypted for security.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
