A heart rate fitness tracker designed to do more. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Wearable fitness gear is taking on lots of different form factors these days. And if you’re determined to keep up with that new year’s resolution, the TickrX from Wahoo Fitness, can help. At first glance, it looks like many other chest strap heart rate monitors, but it is designed to do more. Marketing Director Michelle Halsey….
“The great thing about the TickrX is it actually frees you from your phone during your workout. So you can put it on, go do your workout…for example you can swim, you can lift weights…types of workouts where you wouldn’t necessarily want to have your phone with you…and then you can come back and wirelessly sync it with your phone. And it will capture heart rate, calories burned and the duration of your exercise.”
New capabilities through a firmware update are coming too. The Wahoo TickrX sells for about a hundred dollars and it will pair with both Apple and Android phones. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
