Streaming live TV service coming from Dish Network

Techstination feature for Thursday, January 15, 2015

A new streaming TV service from Dish Network.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Dish Network is making some pretty big headlines announcing a new service called Sling TV at this month’s International Consumer Electronics show.   VP Bob Toevs says for 20 dollars a month…subscribers will be able to watch ESPN…CNN,  Disney, the Food Network, TBS and more…on almost any device that has an Internet connection….

“If you have a TV, we will Sling over a Roku box, over the Fire, the Amazon Fire TV device as well as the new Fire Stick.  We’ll be on the Google Nexus player.  If you have an Android or an iOS device, there will be an app for each of those platforms.”

The traditional broadcast networks aren’t onboard with this yet.   Of course CBS has announced an Internet streaming pay TV service of its own.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
