More affordable and capable connected light bulbs.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The price of LED bulbs that can save you money on energy costs…continues to fall.   Now Cree is out with a Connected LED bulb that can be controlled through a variety of Internet connected hubs…for under fifteen dollars.   That promises to bring the technology to a lot more consumers.   In the meantime, a company called Stack Lighting is readying a bulb it calls Alba.   How is it different?  Co-Founder and CEO Neil Joseph…

“What we really wanted to do is we’ve embedded sensors directly inside of a bulb so that you don’t have to touch an app.  It’s able to understand how much light is in a room and most importantly whether people are even in a room.  So you don’t have to touch a light switch.”

Pretty cool.  The lights themselves will learn what you want to keep you comfortable.  The Alba is due in the spring for about 60 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
