Think there’s a lot of mobile data being used today…. Just wait.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The big networking equipment maker Cisco is out with its annual prediction about the growth of mobile data.   The bottom line… within five years…there will be ten times more mobile data being used than there is today.   Cisco’s Thomas Barnett says by 2019, 70 percent of the world’s population will be using mobile data, but even more of the traffic will be coming from things…connected utility meters, sensors used by farmers….and…

“Smart cars are now smart being able to drive themselves.   And we have wearable devices.  One of the things, people are now starting to adopt smart watches.   We have smart clothing for athletes that’s looking at your heart rate.  And they require an IP address work just like your smartphone or tablet does.”
