A wearable sensor for infants. Snuza.

A wearable sensor for infants.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Wearable tech seems to be everywhere these days.   A company called Snuza is on the market with a gadget called the Snuza Hero, equipped with sensors to give parents of infants peace of mind.   President Sylvie Charette…

“It’s a portable monitor that monitors abdominal movement of infants.   It’s a small device that you clip on the baby’s diaper and it will detect their abdominal movement.  It detects the movement and if no movements are detected after fifteen seconds vibration stimulus will occur and five seconds later a full alarm will sound.”

Loud enough for parents to hear, or it can be used with an audio or video baby monitor as well.  It is small enough to be comfortable but an even small model from the company is in the works.   There’s more info at Snuza.com.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
