Bringing 3D printing to the masses.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   3D printing is still in its infancy.   But the recent announcement that Sam’s Club stores will be carrying the MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer…is yet another indication that the technology is going mainstream.   Company General Manager for the Americas Mark Schulze…says it is important for students and for small business….

“If you are an entrepreneur and you had a great idea and you wanted to show investors or customers what this idea was, instead of needing to go out to a third party that might get you a prototype of that, if you had a MakerBot Replicator Mini on your desk, you could literally, from your design on your computer, print out a prototype of what it is that you wanted to bring to market.  And you could do this in sometimes minutes, if it’s a larger product, sometimes a couple of hours.”

The Replicator Mini sells for under 14 hundred dollars.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
