Fans of Guitar Hero better start limbering up those fingers.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It’s been five years since the last version of Guitar Hero….but Activision is bringing the franchise back in a big way this fall.  Jamie Jackson is Creative Director at Freestyle Games, the studio behind the new Guitar Hero Live and GH TV.  And the guitar controller will be all new…

“We changed the guitar.  It’s now two rows of three buttons which gives a ton of more fun game play which people haven’t had before.  So there’s this great new reason to kind of come back and re-learn it.”  And what do you say to people who might be scared…hey… I relied on those colors?  “But you don’t need to rely on them anymore and you shouldn’t be scared because there’s only three buttons.  You already know how to play this game really well.  You don’t need the colors, you never look down at the colors anyway.”
