Planning a summer trip abroad? It’s getting easier to make use of your smartphone. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. With T-Mobile offering its customers unlimited data and text in over 120 countries at no extra charge…Sprint has now announced a free deal for its customers too. Initially, says Director of Pricing Robert Lane, it will work in 15 countries…
“It provides those customers who travel to Latin America, Europe and Japan…provides them a real opportunity to mitigate some pain points we’ve had in the past. What we have here is an offer with a program allowing customers who travel to those areas of the world to take advantage of unlimited data roaming along with unlimited text messaging. And then also a very good deal as it relates to 20 cents a minute calls when they’re roaming”
The free data is only at 2G speeds….but 3G is available with pricing starting at 15 dollars a day. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
