High tech help for nursing mothers. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. A company called Fairhaven Health, which makes a variety of products to assist with breastfeeding, is now partnering with an app called latchME. It was created by pediatrician Dr. Jonathan Goldfinger….
“So after a mother downloads the app it will immediately offer her the key latchME services, the first being that she can tap a button on her phone and find local breastfeeding resources so that mothers can find a professional to help them latch their baby, a doctor to help them with a potential nipple infection or a local milk bank to donate milk or receive milk if she has, let’s say a baby in a neonatal intensive care unit. In addition, many women will go on there and chat with each other. So we have a social support network.”
LatchME is available for iOS and Android devices. Other products can be found at FairhavenHealth.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
