Acer looks to students and gamers to sell more PCs.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     With a new line of Predator PCs….aimed at hard core gamers…along with updated notebooks and Chrome books…Acer is looking to sell more computers this year.  In fact, at the company’s spring unveiling of dozens of new models, CEO Jason Chen vowed to be the last man standing in the PC business…

“The PC business today, or PC industry today is actually a stable industry.  That’s a nice way to say that in reality it is not growing.  However, within the stable industry there are a couple bright spots.   A good example would be two in ones.  A good example would be Chrome books.     And we are there to capture all the bright spots.  A good example…the Chrome Book market actually doubled last year.  And our business tripled.”
