Activision’s Skylanders franchise revs its engines with a new edition.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Skylanders has been the top selling fame console franchise for kids since it first arrived four years ago.     It broke new ground in merging physical toys with a video game.   Now, with Skylanders: SuperChargers….there’s a new element involved created by the Vicarious Visions game studio, headed by Guha Bala…

“The big thing this year is vehicles.  Not only cars and motorcycles, but also boats, hovercraft, submarines, jet planes, helicopters, UFOs.   And it’s a seamless blend of the on foot action that the kids love.  We’re also introducing multiplayer online racing in this game.”

And for the first time, the game will be available on Apple devices too, including the new Apple TV.   The good news for parents is toys designed for previous versions of the game will work on the new one too.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
