Microsoft’s Office 2016 arrives. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. With its head in the cloud…so to speak…Microsoft has delivered a new version of Office, used by businesses, students and more around the world. If you subscribe to Office365… you’ll get the new software automatically. The General Manager of Office Apps at Microsoft, Jared Spataro says the focus was really on making it easier to collaborate…
“So you can open up a Word document, you can start typing on your own, but if you go to the top right of the new Word 2016, there’s a one click sharing button. As you click that, you can very quickly, just by typing in someone’s email address, share it with a colleague. That colleague can then start to real time type with you. And then while you’re working together on the document you can use in-app Skype integration. Instant message, screen share, even escalate up to voice and video.”
There’s a lot to like. File attachments are simplified too using the cloud. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
