Google's new bag of Marshmallow

Techstination feature for Tuesday, October 6, 2015

Google’s new bag of Marshmallow.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Marshmallow is the code name for the new version of Android rolling out this week and Google has announced two new phones that will include it.   The Nexus 6P made by Huawei and the Nexus 5X from LG.   The 6P is at bit bigger than the iPhone 6 Plus…has an all metal body and a 5.7 inch screen.   Google Engineering VP Dave Burke…

“Now the Nexus 6P has the best camera we’ve ever put into a Nexus device.  A 12.3 megapixel Sony imaging sensor.  The 6P can produce stunning images even in the toughest of lighting conditions.  We’ve also incorporated a high resolution 8 megapixel front facing camera with HDR plus, so you can get the world’s best selfies on this phone.”

The completely unlocked phone has a starting price of 500 dollars…works with all major carriers and Google’s new Project Fi service, which still requires an invitation.    Same goes for the Nexus 5X…which will start at 379 dollars.    You can find more at store.google.com.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
