The perfect techie Star Wars toy. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The Force Awakens won’t arrive until next month…but a new generation of Star Wars toys is already on shelves. And one that is already hard to find, despite a 150 dollar price tag, is the robotic BB-8 from Sphero. It is as close to a real miniature version of what will be in the movie as possible.. and Sphero CEO Paul Berberian says …
“The advent of app controlled toys is something new, we’re kind of at the forefront of it. And having a character like this that has such a broad, mass appeal across all age groups and all geographies really will bring this notion of connected play into the hearts and minds of kids and adults throughout the world.”
The Sphero BB-8 is great fun…to drive around with the accompanying app…or you can put it in autonomous mode and just watch what happens. And with updates …Sphero promises there’s more to come. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
