Intel unveils a smart tiny house

Techstination feature for Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Imagine a house that can call for a plumber to fix a leak on its own.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The folks at Intel along with some partners…have created what is being billed as the first smart tiny house.    It’s on wheels so it will be on tour.    Eric Free is the VP of the Internet of Things Group at Intel…

“And we’re using this as a leaving lab over the next twelve to eighteen months to show how you can incorporate smart home technology into the daily life of an occupant of a tiny home.”  For instance? “So a good example is we have security technology built into the home that uses our True Key solution.   And what that is is a camera at the front door that recognizes the faces of people who approach the door.”

And can unlock automatically if the person at the door is recognized as someone who lives there.   The idea is to give a taste of what you can do now…and what’s to come.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
