Giving a gift that’s warm. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Sure you can buy a sweater to keep a loved one warm over the winter, but if that person is a gadget lover, there’s a techie way to do things. Volt Heat uses rechargeable lithium ion batteries to add warmth to everything from slippers and socks to vests, jackets and gloves. Volt Heat’s Colby Wright says there are new work gloves and fleece models too….
“A lot of the gloves that we have are somewhat specific to the different activities that you’d be using them for. Fleece gloves, similar to the Frosty Glove are more of an everyday lifestyle kind of glove that isn’t real big and bulky and is just a real comfortable glove.”
Depending on the setting, the battery generated warmth can last for as long as eight hours. The price, about a hundred fifty dollars. New this year are heated therapy wraps too. There’s more at VoltHeat.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
