There’s no escaping the Star Wars phenomenon.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    From the movie screen to  supermarket and toy shelves and TV commercials for almost anything…Star Wars is everywhere.     The toy licensing deals are everywhere you turn too.   Sphero’s robotic BB-8 controlled by a smartphone has garnered plenty of well deserved attention.   At Thinkway Toys…there are more than half a dozen Star Wars related remote controlled or voice controlled toys on the market.   The company’s Laura Gambino says some are tied in with the older Star Wars films and others with the new.  But they are all fun…

“With the animatronic features as well, they’re interactive, voice activated .  If you shout around them, they respond.  Chewbacca responds by shooting.  It’s really interesting to see the characters come to life in a new way.”
