NXT-ID wants to put a Wocket in your pocket. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. With mobile payment capabilities from Apple, Android and Samsung….and others on the way….consumers don’t have to carry around all of those credit cards anymore. Another option…is to carry around a single card that can securely store them all. That’s the idea behind NXT-ID’s Wocket. CEO Gino Pereira…
“The concept behind the smart wallet is to protect all of the information that we have in our regular wallets. And so we do that by storing it in a tamper proof, encrypted chip that’s accessible through a touch screen. And it’s actually in a form factor that functions fully as a wallet as well. So you can keep your driver’s license and other things that you normally carry in your wallet. But the important thing is that it’s protected.”
The latest version includes NFC and the company says biometric voice security is on the way as well. There’s more info at Wocketwallet.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
