Keyssa promises wireless, high speed device connections

A new kind of wireless connection for all kinds of gadgets.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   A company called Keyssa is making chips that will allow fast wireless transfers of video and data through what it calls Kiss connections.    Backers include some big names like Intel and Samsung.     It can do for wireless data what the Qi standard does for wireless charging.   VP Steve Venuti…

“We’re essentially trying to act like a wire but without a wire.  And the speeds go up to like USN super speeds, so over five gigabits per second.  Or Displayport, 5.4.   So up to six gigabits per second.   Those speeds can be done without wires.”

The technology is tiny…about the size of a coffee bean…and it consumes very little power.  Good news for battery life.   You’ll be hearing more about these Kiss connections…in the months to come.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
