How much tech can there be in a rubber duck. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. It looks pretty much like an ordinary toy rubber duck…just a bit on the large size, as is the 99 dollar price. But Edwin the Duck from Pi Lab is anything but ordinary. CEO and Co-founder Matt MacBeth…
“Inside of Edwin there’s accelerometers, there’s temperature sensors. The system is anyone with the mobile app can play with the child through a song or games. If you think of the feedback of a Wii controller, you can move the controller around and the character on the screen will react. We’ve taken that system a little further and actually made a personality of Edwin the Duck in the physical toy that can interact with the animated character on the screen.”
It is also a Bluetooth speaker for playing music and the temperature sensor can take a child’s temp…or tell you if the bath water Edwin is floating in is too hot. There’s more at EdwintheDuck.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
