Nancy Drew teaches kids to code

Techstination feature for Friday, February 19, 2016

Nancy Drew teaches kids to code.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      Nancy Drew books aimed at girls have been around for 85 years.   But she’s still keeping up with the times, thanks in large part to the computer and now mobile game series from Her Interactive.   And the latest title, arriving this spring, is called Nancy Drew: Codes and Clues.     Her Interactive CEO Penny Milliken…

“First of all, it’s going to be an entertaining experience.  And they are going to learn the foundation and principles of coding through a Nancy Drew mystery.  It’s still going to be solving a Nancy Drew mystery.   In this case, there’s a missing tech fair project.

Beyond that…

“Many of Nancy’s skills are timeless.   She’s kind, adventurous, smart, brave, caring.  She’s always willing to help others.”

The game is intended for five to eight year olds, who in many cases will be playing on mobile devices right alongside a parent.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
