A camera that can see in all directions: Alliecam

Techstination feature for Monday, March 7, 2016

A camera that can see in all directions.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     VR or virtual reality technology is a pretty hot topic these days, with a wide range of headsets and content becoming available.   A company called IC Realtech has created a sphere shaped  4K capable camera equipped with two super wide angle lenses…that let’s you take videos and still images to create your own VR experience.   It’s called Alliecam…and it can be used for more than entertainment.  CEO Matt Sailor says the camera has its own powerful Qualcomm processors that even enable live streaming.   That means it is great for security or keeping an eye on pets or young children…

“Basically the camera can be set up in a few minutes.   It automatically pings to cloud storage.  We do give the first year of cloud storage away at no charge with the purchase of the camera.”

There’s more info on the 600 dollar camera at Alliecam.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
