A Bluetooth finder with a difference. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Those Bluetooth gadgets that help you find your keys, handbag or other belongings are pretty common these days. Pair them with a phone….and as long as you’re within Bluetooth range…you can find what you’re looking for. Chipolo is one of the newer entries in the category. You can have up to nine Chipolos linked to one phone and the range is better than most…up to 200 feet. President Larry Lein says another key difference is that the battery can easily be replaced….
“When you buy Chipolo, it uses one basic watch battery, which is available in any drug store, it costs a dollar fifty or two dollars. It comes with two, the package comes with two batteries that can be easily replaced by just sticking your thumbnail into the case and it just pops open and you put in a new battery.”
With most other Bluetooth finders the case is sealed…so when the battery dies after about six to eight months…you throw it away. The price? Under thirty dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
