Techstination feature for Thursday, March 31, 2016

Making the water from your kitchen sink, safer to drink.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      While the tragedy in  Flint, Michigan has been making headlines,  there are many other communities where the water quality is far from up to par.    A company called Kinetico is on the market with a system it calls the Kube…spelled with a K, that installs easily under the sink, that delivers cleaner cold water.   Director of Retail Phillip Adsetts…

“People go to Costco as an example and buy caseloads of bottled water for a couple dollars for 35 bottles.  And if you actually look at the quantity of water you get and what you paid for it, you’re paying in the neighborhood of over the price of a gallon of gas for drinking water.   If you get a pitcher, you’re still paying over 20 cents a gallon for drinking water.  Whereas the Kube, you’re paying less than 4 cents a gallon for the water that you’re getting.”

The Kube sells for about two hundred dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
