The latest wearables from Fitbit.     I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Despite the growing competition from Apple and quite a few others, Fitbit seems to have another hit on its hands….or rather on its wrist….with the Fitbit Blaze.   More stylish than the Fitbit Surge but without built in GPS, the Blaze has a color screen, a built in heart rate monitor, can receive smartphone notifications and has a variety of band styles.    And one of the key improvements is battery life.    It only needs to be charged about once a week.   That’s impressive.    And even though it doesn’t have built in GPS for mapping your run or bike ride,  it can use the GPS in your phone to accomplish those things.    It sells for about 200 dollars.    Also new is the Fitibt Alta.   It has a more familiar band shape, but it too, adds more style than previous generations offered.     The 140 dollar fitness tracker doesn’t include a heart rate monitor but can receive smartphone notifications.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
