Netatmo looks to make smart homes even smarter. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. There are lots of me too types of companies in the smart home category. Netatmo, based in France, isn’t one of them. It makes devices packed with style and technology, and keeps products current with updates. The Netatmo Welcome camera for instance has been updated with new advanced artificial intelligence that helps it recognize the faces of people who belong in your home…and alerts you when it sees faces that aren’t recognized. Beyond that, Marketing Product Manager Janina Mattausch says Welcome now analyzes sound in a room…
“So it will recognize the patterns of different alarms, such as your CO alarm, security alarm or a fire alarm. And it will actually tell you through the app that an alarm is being heard at home.”
No subscription needed. An outdoor camera is in the works as well. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
