iTENS wearable promises pain relief

Techstination feature for Thursday, May 12, 2016

A wearable that promises pain relief.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   A company called iTENS is using smartphone apps to deliver pain relief using TENS technology.  It stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.    And while there are different opinions in the medical community about how effective it can be, it is considered to be safe and many people rely on it daily.    What sets iTENS apart?    CEO Josh Lefkovitz….

We’ve re-engineered it to work with smartphones.  So iOS and Android platforms.  TENS is a technology that sends tiny electrical signals through the skin to the nerve to intercept and block pain right at the nerve.”

It is covered by many health insurance plans including Medicare.   Drug free pain relief has obvious benefits.   The iTens price, about a hundred dollars.   There’s more at iTens.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
