Republic Wireless aims to be the best deal for mobile service, period.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    For years, Republic Wireless has been a carrier that has offered great bargain rates for service, but has struggled with very limited phone choices.   Now, with new handsets and a more flexible network and plans that start at just ten dollars a month,  Republic should gain ground in a hurry.   CEO David Morken…

“Seven new phones in total are going to be available with bonded calling, with WiFi calling handover for the very inexpensive plans that we offer.  And in addition, Fred, we have announced that a second carrier, in addition to Sprint, the nation’s fastest GSM carrier, is joining Republic and will be providing service on these new phones.”

Republic is also adding financing plans to help make new handsets…including Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge…more affordable.   What’s missing from the lineup is still the iPhone.   But who knows what may lie ahead.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
