The woman who leads IT at Ford.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Marcy Klevorn became used to being one of the very few females in the meeting room as she worked her way up to becoming the Chief Information Officer at Ford.   And that position today has taken on added importance as technology becomes the driving force in the automobile industry.   There’s work yet to do, but Klevorn says those self driving cars will be coming very soon…perhaps within four years… to a driveway near you…

“I think there’ll be a lot of pressure to make them happen.  I think some of the challenges will be the global aspects.  Regulations are different in every country.  Every country has it’s own set of challenges around roads, infrastructure, pollution, things like that.  So balancing all that definitely will come into play.”
