WowWee readies a robot for STEM education and fun

WowWee readies a robot for STEM education and fun.    I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.      WowWee is a toy company that’s become well known for a variety of fun and sometimes pretty sophisticated robots.   Now it is readying the release of Coji, a little robot that can start kids on the path to learning about coding.   Brand Manager Andrew Yanofsky says the name is blend of the words emoji and coding….

“The notion of emojis are ubiquitous to everybody, right?  No matter your age, readership level or geography, everyone can understand and relate to an emoji.  So for that reason, any kid can be coding in minutes or seconds actually.   All he has to do is press three or four buttons.  In this case I’m going to hit the up arrow twice and then send a devil face.   And when I do I get a real reaction out of my robot.”

Coji is designed for children between four and seven.  It arrives next month for under sixty dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
