A Bluetooth speaker designed for a horse?

Techstination feature for Friday, July 15, 2016

A new kind of Bluetooth speaker to get saddled with.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.     Bluetooth speakers are hardly anything new.  They come in all sizes, shapes and price ranges.    But the iRocknRide caught our attention.   Why?  It’s designed for the saddle.   Hoofbeatz Audio CEO Leah Lane came up with the idea after hooking up some computer speakers to listen to music while riding …

“My background is in agriculture and animal pharmaceutical sales.   So I understand my industry but I knew nothing about electronics at that point.  So I did my homework, my research and then just started prototyping.   I started with pencil sketches and moved on to clay.”

Persistence was the key.  iRocknRide will let users chat on the phone or listen to music.  Lane says horses enjoy it too.  After a successful campaign on Kickstarter…they start shipping at the end of the summer.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
