iRobot's Braava Jet makes a landing

iRobot’s Braava Jet makes a landing.    I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.   It’s the most affordable robotic cleaner in the iRobot line up.    The Braava Jet is designed to wet mop, damp sweep or dry sweep hard floors…and sells for about two hundred dollars.   Keep in mind that unlike the company’s Roomba robotic vacuums, you will need to buy additional disposable pads.   And, says iRobot’s James Baussmann, the Braava Jet is designed for smaller rooms…

“In the damp sweeping and wet mopping, the robot will actually spray out water and in addition to spraying water on the floor the pad vibrates, so there’s a vibrating action in the pad and together that agitates the dirt or the stain on the ground and helps lift it and suck it into the pad.”

Again the price is under two hundred dollars.    On the higher end, look for the new Roomba 960 as well.    The 700 dollar machine can be controlled with a smartphone app and can clean for up to 75 minutes on a charge.  There’s more info at iRobot.com.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.    I’m Fred Fishkin.
