Breathometer's Mint oral health monitor arrives

Techstination feature for Thursday, October 13, 2016

Breathometer’s latest device focuses on oral health.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.   Breathometer is a company that became well known from a Shark Tank episode a few years ago that helped to fund a smart phone connected breathalyzer to help combat drunk driving.  Now the company is out with a gadget it calls Mint.    Marketing Director Kevin O’Leary….

“Mint detects volatile sulfur compounds which are by-products of some pretty nasty bacteria that are in your mouth.   So ultimately what we’re doing is we’re tracking your overall oral health and we’re allowing  you to monitor it at any time through the connected device and our paired smartphone app.”

Mint can let you know if there’s a problem with your breath…but the compounds can also alert you to the potential for periodontal and other diseases.   The Breathometer Mint sells for about a hundred dollars.   You can find it at Breathometer.com or Amazon.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
